Getting Around in Costa Rica

You can navigate Costa Rica on your own if you have a vehicle or want to rent one. If not, you can climb aboard one of the many buses that travel the roadways carrying both locals and tourists. Travel is usually great fun and you’ll enjoy eye-catching beauty all along the way, but during the rainy season the potential for landslides becomes very real in some locations. Any that occur are usually quickly cleared away, and there are always longer alternate routes that can carry you safely to your destination.
