Tambor is a beachfront town located right across the Nicoya Gulf, just in the center of the beautiful Bahia Ballena. The large Tambor Beach sits in the middle of a large semi-circular bay and has a light grey sandy beach and very calm and protected waters that are ideal for swimming, kayaking, stand up paddling and fishing. This gorgeous bay is the perfect place to come and unwind from the business of life, it is the perfect location for someone who is looking for some peaceful surroundings or holidays.
At low tide the beach becomes quite expansive and flat. There is a fishermen’s dock on the south side of the bay and it is very easy to coordinate fishing tours, expeditions to Playa Los Muertos and Tortuga Island.
