Jamie Schwartz

Jamie has resided in Nosara for almost 20 years and, prior to making the move, was a frequent visitor to the area through the 80s and 90s. Originally from Norfolk, Virginia U.S.A. Jamie moved to Virginia Beach in his early teen years and was a permanent fixture in the local surf scene. He went on to attend the University of Virginia majoring in English with a business minor and, after graduation, saved enough money for an extensive surf trip through Mexico and Central America. This was 1979 and from that first surf trip Jamie’s fondness for surf travel was born. He has visited California, Baja Mexico, Barbados, and Fiji, and frequently returned to mainland Mexico for strong Pacific swells.

When not traveling to feed his love of big waves, Jamie worked in sales and construction and eventually became a general contractor and real estate agent in Virginia but, his love of Costa Rica and in particular, Nosara continued to call. Nosara was quite different back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. There was not a great deal of development and amenities were often quite scarce, but the surf and fishing were extraordinary. Jamie decided the time was right to relocate, a decision without regret.

Heavily involved in the community, for the past six years, Jamie has been a volunteer builder of Mercy Homes, a local Christian outreach program which constructs basic new homes for needy families in our community. Most homes are funded by visiting church or youth groups who also provide the labor to build each home. Jamie particularly enjoys working with the teams after they arrive to help them with the construction.

Jamie joined Coldwell Banker and Surfing Nosara Real Estate in 2018 and is grateful for the opportunity to be of service to those interested in property listing and purchases. His experience in real estate investing, construction, and sales both here and in Virginia provides a wealth of knowledge which he eagerly shares with his clients. Should you decide an investment in or move to this area is right for you, Jamie is someone who can help guide you through the process from start to finish.

In all the excitement of moving to Costa Rica and setting up our new home, I have been remiss in sending you a big “Thank You!”.

Daveed Hollander served as my real estate broker and helped me successfully sell three luxury properties over the past several years. His knowledge of the marketplace and experience in the area, professionalism, and responsiveness back by a great team were all outstanding. If you are looking to sell or buy, I would strongly recommend Daveed and his Coldwell Banker team.

I had the pleasure of working with Dylan to find my perfect property in Costa Rica. Dylan is very detail-oriented and found exactly what I wanted. He has many great contacts from attorneys, craftsmen to the best places to eat! What a great family! Friends for life! P.S. Thanks for the surfing lessons.

I have some sense of how busy Scott Bowers is but we always felt we had your full attention whenever we needed it and Scott Bowers never rushed us. Making such a large decision from Canada had the potential to go sideways in countless ways. Scott Bowers always kept us on track and found answers to our many questions. Scott Bowers helped us bridge the language issues, especially the definition of “furnished”! Cheers and pura vida

Scott Bowers helped us to purchase our house in Costa Rica. Scott was very responsive and specific, always answering the phone, or returning phone calls right away. He is a very nice person to work with and he was very professional and amiable when showing us the properties while we were in the country. He helped us to negotiate the deal on the property we have selected and also introduced us to a local RE attorney and assisted us in preparing documents needed to finalize the transaction while we were back in the USA. He provided help with things substantially above and beyond his responsibilities as a RE agent, such as setting up a bank account in CR. His book, “The Definitive Guide to Costa Rica Expat Living”, is a must read for anybody thinking about RE in Costa Rica. I strongly recommend him.

Moving to a new country can never be easy but after meeting Dylan, I found my perfect home. I have a long relationship with Coldwell Banker and so when I decided I wanted to purchase a home in Costa Rica I contacted my local Coldwell Banker agent and she introduced me to Dylan. Dylan is a great agent, he took the time to educate me about the area I was interested in and provided me with the information I needed to purchase my new home. Even after purchase he provided me with assistance on making my hew house my new home. I highly recommend Dylan as an agent here in Costa Rica.
