La Casa del Doctor

La Casa del Doctor (the Doctor’s house) is an unusual house for rural, small-town Hojancha because of its spacious interior, open floorplan and high teak ceilings, as well as very good construction values and a spacious shaded lot. A bonus is that it is a turn-key property, beautifully furnished with antique, hand-crafted and tasteful wooden furniture. The dining room table is remarkable, hand-made from the base of a Guanacaste tree. The house is also, because of its size, quality, attractiveness and location, one of the best values we have seen in the area.
Its four bedrooms, each with an antique bedstead and spacious wooden closets built by the owner, provide room for an entire family, contented guests, and/or a home office. The kitchen is well-equipped and graced with ample wooden cabinets, also custom-made. A large back porch provides added attractive and comfortable living space. While close to the center of Hojancha, the house is private, surrounded by a large lot enclosed by hedges and trees. It is served by reliable public utilities (water and electricity) as well as high-speed fiber-optic internet.
The large lot complements the comfort and livability of the house (which is also perfect for pets). An artesian well provides no-cost water year-round for maintaining the yard and garden green and fresh throughout the year. A large rancho (covered, open-air living space) provides an outdoor option for enjoying Hojancha’s highly agreeable climate. Next to the rancho is an ideal spot for constructing a swimming pool. Finally, there is an attractive bodega with a workspace and room for tools.
