Enchanting Hostel Property for Chirripo Trekkers

This property is perfect for a Chirripo trekker hostel. It is located less than a kilometer from the Chirripo trail-head and sits in a scenic perch above where the Chispa creek and the Chirripo river merge.

The home is comprised of 5 bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. There is an additional 1/2 bath off the living room. The bedrooms feature large beds and bunk-beds and each can host up to 6 trekkers.

The living room leads to a balcony with scenic mountain and forest views and below you see the two merging water courses. There is a stone and concrete walkway down to the rivers, where guests will find swimming holes and cascadas (small waterfalls). This is about as scenic and pristine a site as you can find anywhere in Costa Rica. There is an ample kitchen as well.

Under the balcony there is an alternative room, which is literally carved into stone. The most adventurous guests might choose this option.

The overall land area consists of just under a 1/2 acre. There is a small cleared and flat area that would be perfect for some type of game court or fire pit area for guests.

The finishings are of rustic wood with vaulted ceilings of 5 to 6 meters. There is parking area for 4 to 5 cars.

The area of San Gerardo de Rivas is the main tourist draw of the Perez Zeledon mountains due to the spectacular experience of trekking Chirripo, Costa Rica's highest peak at just under 13,000 feet. The small pueblo of San Gerardo has numerous shops and restaurants and is less than a half-hour to San Isidro de El General, which is the second largest city of Costa Rica outside of the metropolitan San Jose area. The property is also only a little over an hour from the beaches of the Costa Ballena, such as Dominical, Uvita and Ojochal.
