Teak Tree Plantation Farm on 156 Acres in Pavones Price Drop

This beautiful, unique farm consists of two adjoining properties located in Altamira, Pavones. They total over 63 hectares or 156 acres and were planted in 1995/96 and have been well maintained in an environmentally responsible manner.

The teak, being 20 years old, could be harvested in part or in its entirety now, or could continue to grow as an investment. Since the last thinning, the farm is almost half teak and the rest is corridors of native species, which provide important wildlife habitat and are also good for the health of the teak and to prevent erosion.

After the teak is harvested, the farm would be ideal for a mix of sustainable agroforestry crops which might include various spice trees, the new recently-developed disease-resistant cacao (the gourmet organic market for these products is growing) and various lumber trees for eventual harvest. With the wooded corridors which run throughout the farm and provide habitat for endangered wildlife including scarlet macaws, ocelots, and three species of monkeys, ecotourism would be an excellent possibility.

The property has several year round spring water sources, and also several cascades, and a couple larger waterfalls.

Altamira de Pavones is in the South Pacific zone of Costa Rica, a fast-growing area which adds to the investment value and desirability of this property. The farm offers views to the Golfo Dulce, and within 2 km the way the bird flies to the water. Pavones is a surf destination with one of the worlds best left hand waves that can be ridden up to nearly 2 minutes when the swell is pumping!

I would consider Pavones to be one of Costa Rica's little hidden gems for the avid nature lover, waterman, surfer, fisherman.

The government is improving an airstrip within very close proximity to the property, just across the bay there is a major marina project under construction in Golfito, among'st several other smaller projects that add value, and appreciation to any investment in the area rimming the Golfo Dulce.
