Of the seven provinces that make up the country of Costa Rica, only one shares an entire coastline with the Caribbean Sea, and that is the province of Limón. There are quite a few reasons why thousands of visitors a year travel specifically to destinations in the province of Limón - including turtle watching (four species of turtles nest on the northern coast), dolphin watching on the southern end of the coast, sport fishing for tarpon and snook, the Caribbean-style food, so different then that found in the rest of the country, and the music which consists of reggae and calypso. Purchasers of land for sale in Caribbean Costa Rica will find themselves owners of property where they can just relax and enjoy their verdant surroundings, or where they will be free to seek out the various natural wonders that are accessible practically outside their backyards.
The province of Limón is the most culturally diverse of all the provinces in Costa Rica. There is a substantial indigenous population there, as well as an Afro-Caribbean population that cherishes its African or Jamaican heritage. Of course the one thing Limón has in common with its fellow provinces is that the people are friendly and outgoing, and welcome the tourists that provide a great deal of their income – along with their banana and plantain plantations, of course. Caribbean land of interest to folks who’d like to make Costa Rica their home is available for sale in and around all of the various cities and towns scattered throughout the dense jungle that makes up most of this province. The port cities are the most populous, of course and have the most developed infrastructures which expatriates will typically expect.
