The name Ohana is a Polynesian term that means “extended family.” Casa Ohana is, indeed, a family home that sleeps twelve, accommodates young and old, reflects the ocean environment in its design, incorporates the earth in its materials but is, at its heart, a warm and wonderful place for families and friends to gather in a remarkably beautiful place.

Casa Ohana is a natural combination of thoughtful modern design and local building skills which both pay tribute to the surrounding tropical environment. Tony Unruh, of Unruh Boyer Architecture and Design in Los Angeles designed Casa Ohana as a place where family and friends come together to live, love, and enjoy Playa Negra. Natural light and the sound of waves flood the home all day long. Curved stairs, tall ceilings, hardwood counters, and wide decks abound.

Set in a well-established gated community, this five-bedroom home with three full baths and two half baths is sheltered by a lush mature landscape. It sits high on a point with vistas up and down the coastline. Four of the five bedrooms enjoy majestic views of the warm Pacific Ocean and year-round sunsets. The fifth bedroom looks out to a tropical tree canopy that leads to the mountains. Each suite is set aside for privacy.
