There are plenty of beautiful towns in Costa Rica. It all depends on what you’re looking for. Some people like to live surrounded by verdant forests and its accompanying wildlife. Others like to live near the ocean (or sea!) and have views of clear blue water, not to mention sailboats. Playa Panama, located on the northwest coast of Costa Rica, is one of those resort towns that appeal to the water lover. The Costa Rican government has invested a lot in the infrastructure in this region of the country and the roads between beaches are well paved. There are many resorts and hotels in the area that cater to the constant influx of tourists.
Most people who come to Playa Panama fly into the international airport at Liberia, then rent a car or rake bus or taxi to the coast. The entire western coastline of Costa Rica seems to be given over to beaches, and attract surfers (particularly in August when there is a surf competition at Playa Hermosa that attracts both pros and amateurs), as well as scuba divers. And of course sports fishermen love coming here. Playa Panama lots are in high demand, both from investment groups that wish to enter the hospitality industry that is so vibrant here, or by retirees simply seeking land on which to build a retirement home.
