Costa Rica, a country about the size of the US state of West Virginia, can be found on the Central American isthmus, to the south of Nicaragua and to the north of Panama. The Pacific Ocean is to the west, and the Caribbean Sea is to the east. With so much shoreline, there are plenty of beaches on which to frolic, and Playa Panama is one of those beaches. Playa Panama is located quite near Playa Hermosa, at almost the northwest tip of the country (so don’t be fooled and think that a beach named Playa Panama is located anywhere near Panama!) There are many fantastic beaches to be found on the west coast of Costa Rica. This particular beach is of black sand, and is only a kilometer in length. Folks who don’t care for surfing will be able to play golf on a course designed by Arnold Palmer, or visit the nearby national parks such as Rincon de la Vieja , Palo Verde, and Santa Rosa. It’s easy to drive to Playa Panama from Liberia, and there’s also an airport here, so it’s quite convenient for all tourists.
