Cartago Costa Rica Hotels for Sale

Until 1823, Cartago was the capital of Costa Rica. The switch to San José happened for political reasons. Cartago is only some 12 miles southeast of San José. Although it is smaller than San José, Cartago is a large city of over 150,000 inhabitants. The city is located about 12 miles away from the volcano of Irazú, famous for erupting in 1963 while President John F. Kennedy was visiting the country. As a matter of fact, Irazú is a popular destination for tourists of all kinds and volcano enthusiasts in particular. Visitors can take a bus or drive right up to the summit, where there are several craters to view. Because of the thousands of tourists each year who come to the city to view the volcano, hotels for sale in Cartago Costa Rica are a good investment. In addition to the volcano, the Irazú Volcano National Park consists of forested land which is home to a variety of wildlife, and tourists can take guided tours along trails to see many different species.

Hotels for Sale in Cartago Costa Rica

There are many reasons why tourists come to Cartago – although usually they use the city as a base in order to visit the many natural wonders that that region of Costa Rica has to offer. While most tourists come to view Irazú, it is only one of several active volcanoes in Costa Rica. (At one point, Arenal volcano was the most active volcano in the world, erupting every day, but it has not done so since 2010.). If you wish to purchase a resort for sale in Cartago, never fear. In addition to income from volcano visitors, there’ll be plenty of folks who are visiting Cartago’s basilica, and orchid enthusiasts will come to visit the Lankaster Botanical Gardens, which boasts Costa Rica’s largest collection of orchids.
