Liberia Costa Rica Condos for Sale

Costa Rica has four international airports – two in San Jose (the capital of the country), one in Limon on the southeast coast, and one in Liberia, in the northwest part of the country. Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia is the 9th busiest international airport in all of Central America, seeing over 500,000 passengers a year pass through its doors. The reason for this popularity is that Liberia is the “gateway” to what is known as the “Costa Rican Riviera” or the “Gold Coast,” specifically the southwest coat of the country which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean. Because of the influx or tourists and émigrés into Liberia, there are many condos for sale in Liberia Costa Rica and they are popular among Costa Ricans, tourists, and émigrés alike.

Condos for Sale in Liberia Costa Rica

Liberia, located about 130 miles northwest of San José on the Pan American Highway, is called “the white city” because most of its buildings are whitewashed, with red tile roofs (and its roads at one pint consisted of white gravel.) Today, Liberia is a modern city of some 60,000 people and has several churches (of course), a central plaza (typically, all Costa Rican towns grew around a central plaza) and plenty of restaurants and shopping centers. Liberia condos can be purchased by citizens of the country and émigrés as well, as there are no restrictions on who can own property in Costa Rica. Liberia is known as a “cowboy” town because of the many cattle ranches in the area, and rodeos are a popular form of entertainment.
