Tourism is one of Costa Rica’s major economic forces – so much so that the government is doing its best to develop properties in most cities located near prime tourist destinations – such as the beaches on the Pacific coast and the Caribbean coast, and the various volcanoes. They also have established several wildlife preserves to protect their ecosystems. Liberia is a very popular tourist destination, not in and of itself but because of the surrounding tourist spots, and for this reason rentals in Liberia Costa Rica are quite popular. Rather than rent a hotel room, many groups prefer to take a house for a week or two, or even a month. Financially this can prove to make good economic sense, depending on how many people choose to take advantage of such possibilities.
Tourists who fly into Liberia generally fall into one of two categories. There are those who go directly to the beaches on the northwest coast, intent on surfing, scuba diving or sports fishing, and there are those who are more interested in what lies in the interior of the country – the various volcanoes and the wildlife and nature preserves. Liberia rentals are suitable for both these groups, because by using Liberia as a base, it’s easy to get to both sets of locations in a half hour or so by car or bus. (Indeed, although Liberia has plenty of car rental companies, there are also bus services available for those who don’t choose to drive on unfamiliar roads.
