Arenal Costa Rica Rentals

Ever wanted to go horseback riding in the foothills of a volcano? Ever thought of biking or hiking along the flanks of a cone-shaped volcano such as Arenal? Ever since the volcano erupted in 1968, people have been coming here to do just that, and they’ve needed rentals in Arenal Costa Rica in order to stay and enjoy all of the wonderful sites and activities with which this area abounds. The tourism industry built up here quickly, and now tourists can find all the modern conveniences within the towns of La Fortuna, Tilaran, San Rafael and Quesada among others, but then walk just outside their doors, practically, and be within a rain forest to view hundreds of bird species and plenty of wildlife, including tapirs and jaguars.

Rentals in Arenal Costa Rica

Until 1968, El Borio was a small little town in the western foothills of Arenal Volcano. In 1968, when that volcano erupted, the lava destroyed a couple of towns in the eastern foothills. El Borio promptly changed its name to La Fortuna. Today, although Arenal has ceased to erupt, La Fortuna still is fortunate, as tourists and expatriates continue to visit the location to take in all the other natural wonders, such as the La Fortuna Waterfall – some 70 meters in height. As a result, Arenal rentals in La Fortuna are quite popular with people coming there to see the sights, or for an extended stay as expatriates. Monteverde Cloud Forest is one extremely popular site, and of course there is fantastic windsurfing on Lake Arenal.
